This course is the ideal place for music lovers, students, and any musician who wish to spend a full musical week in an inspiring resicence from 1920 in the polish Izerskie Mountains located 6 km from Świeradów Zdrój (a historical health resort), and just one kilometer from the czech border (130 km from Prague).
It is addressed to harpsichordists, organists, singers, wind and string players (with baroque instruments), and ensembles, better if already established.
Marco Vitale wants to share all his knowledge and experience with the participants, with the intention to create a relaxed but effective atmosphere where music is at the centre of the universe. Participants will receive single attention, focusing on topics like solo harpsichord/organ playing, basso continuo, baroque singing (special attention to the Italian repertoire), rhetoric and ensemble music making. All fields where Marco Vitale is highly specialized, because of the work with his own ensemble Contrasto Armonico, and because of his cooperation with many well known musicians as Jordi Savall and Le Concert des Nations. Not to forget his enthusiastic passion for teaching, which makes this course a reference for music lovers.
Benefits for the participants:
- inspiring venue, easy and not expensive to reach.
- keyboard players can choose if focusing on repertoire, on continuo… or on both!
- established ensembles will benefit from the possibility to further improve their qualities
- participants who will not come in ensemble are also welcome, and will have the chance to make music together with fellow colleagues (harpsichordists are always needed to play continuo for the singers and/or wind/string players!)
- possibility to create new ensembles on the spot
- for singers: great opportunity to work on Italian music with a native Italian musician, who works regularly with well known and acclaimed singers.
- for singers, keyboard and cello players: possibility to work on recitatives, the main form of the baroque cantata/opera and often the hardest one to perform
- for wind and string players: accurate work on ensemble’s issues such us articulation, intonation, how to play with a keyboard instrument, etc.
- Participants are free to choose the music they want to play, or can ask Marco Vitale for advice
